How busy is your day to day schedule
Is it packed full of appointments and meetings, with not much room left for exercise and relaxation?
Not enough time to always get to your next hot yoga class?
Often, when our lives get this busy, one of the first things we move to the back burner is exercise.
This means skipping out on your much-needed yoga-classes!
However staying committed to your yoga routine needn’t be a stretch (except for when your on the mat, of course!). Here are four easy steps that will help you stay committed to your hot yoga routine.
How to stay committed to your hot yoga routine in 4 easy steps
1. Prioritise and make it part of your schedule.
You without a doubt already have a diary (or digital notebook) in which you jot down your to-do list every day.
This could be your groceries, meetings, appointments … so, why not add your hot yoga lessons in there as well?
Adding your lessons and their times to your daily diary will help you to make every session a priority and part of your schedule.
2. Mentally prepare yourself.
Waking up in the morning, many of us start doing a roundup of our day ahead. Get up shower, breakfast, work … which is why it is so important to make your exercise routine part of this list!
At the start of each day, make a mental note to yourself that you have a scheduled hot yoga lesson today.
By mentally preparing yourself to be present for your lesson, you get into the right mindset.
You look forward to your session and hanging out with your yoga community later in the day.
3. Remind yourself of the benefits you get from your workout.
Whenever you feel you are starting to make excuses to skip out on your next hot yoga lesson, stop for a moment and remind yourself of all the benefits that you get from a hot yoga session.
There is no replacement for being fit, healthy and happy.
So why should you compromise? Not to mention that incredible boost you get from exercising!
4. Have the right yoga gear.
Being comfortable and relaxed will help you stay motivated and allow you to enjoy your hot yoga session even more.
It is not only about looking the part, but also about FEELING the part!
Staying clear of cotton clothing that can weigh you down due to absorbed sweat, baggy shorts or pants is important.
Go for leggings, shorts, tank tops or sports bras to ensure you can exercise without feeling uncomfortable.
And having the right yoga mat will ensure you do not slip or get injured!
Ensure you put all your workout clothes and gear together each evening.
Having your yoga bag packed and ready for the day ahead will remind you of just how important your next lesson is!
